We also have another gig coming up in a few months at Nottingham’s Golden Fleece, in a show organized by Nottingham’s busiest promoters, Farmyard (who can claim a lot of the credit for the huge current interest in Nottingham music).
We were in the studio last weekend getting Ed to lay down some drum tracks, which he did with a plum. No, make that aplomb. Here’s some pix:
Here’s a picture that someone Jake knows took:
A friend of mine who likes to call himself ‘The Elf’ has started blogging about keyboard-related matters at andertons.co.uk (a good UK music shop and website that I buy from quite a bit). Here’s his first post.
(Doesn’t look like he has his own account there yet, he’s had his first post put up via another poster there — hope they sort out the presentation. The general keyboard blog is here, but it mostly seems to be product release bumpf).
We had great fun at The Maze last week. We went down really well even with a crowd predominantly there to see some very different bands. Fat Goth were terrific, they had a spellbinding drummer. Dick Venom and the Terrortones put on a raucous show, Dick is a great frontman who literally throws himself into it, he has to be seen to be believed. Dick and Wrex are great characters, no wonder they’re psychobilly legends. Nice also to see Apart from the Noise and Blind Thieves too.
My keyboard kept jumping patches for some reason. Might have been the huge bass and kick drum coming through the floorboards — need to get a more solid stand!
Stage times for the gig tomorrow night (may be subject to delays!)
Apart From The Noise: 8.15 – 8.45
Coralspin: 9.00 – 9.30
Blind Thieves: 9.45 – 10.15
Fat Goth: 10.30 – 11.15
Dick Venom & The Terrortones: 11.30 – 12.15
